The Biewer Breed Club of America, Inc. developed its own Registry for Biewers here in North America. Under advisement from reputable breeders in Germany, we felt it was important to start a Registry. As people who are born in any given country acquire their birth certificates, in accordance with their native country, so it should be with the Biewers.
The Biewer Breed International Registry (BBIR) is not only available to BBCA members but is open to the public as well. While the Registry is open to all pure Biewers, you can rest assured that your information will remain private. Covered by the Privacy Act, your information will not be given to others unless you give written permission for it to be shared.
To the best of its ability, the BBIR has kept accurate information supplied by recognized German Registries from its inception. The BBIR has developed its own database, complete with pedigrees and litter registrations. The database has remained accurate through DNA identification for all breeding stock registered. By doing this, the Registry ensures that all future generations will remain Biewer to Biewer and validates the breed to various organizations as we continue to develop.
The BBIR has played a major role in the recognition of the Biewer in North America and continues to offer a large gene pool for the continued development of the breed. There are multiple champions and excellent examples of the breed within its registry and their numbers continue to multiply at an accelerated rate.
The pedigrees will be permanent and transferable to new owners. The pedigrees will show (4 or 5) generations of parentage and will include detailed information such as kennel name, breeding rights, etc. These details will be provided on the registration form. Every breeder has the right to specify their own details.
The BBIR is a safe, secure registry and can be trusted to maintain the integrity on which it was established. As the Registry continues to grow, the Biewer will continue to develop into a beautiful, strong, and vibrant breed. The BBIR is the key to keeping our blood lines diverse while ensuring our German heritage is protected.
